Word of the Year: 2024 Edition

Why I Choose a Word of the Year

For the last ten years or so (way before it was the “thing” to do) I would prayerfully consider what word I wanted to make my focus for the new year. Sometimes it would come to me easily and other times I would really need to pray and listen for a while before I would choose it.

I love having a word of the year because it is something that I can go back to all year long. Do my goals align with it? Do new opportunities align with it? These are the types of questions I will ask myself and usually journal about.

How I Chose my 2024 Word of the Year

This year my word kept showing up organically in conversations, my prayers, things I was reading, and even a literal sticker. One of my favorite Christmas gifts came with a sticker that had my word of the year right on it. I laughed and felt like that was a true Godwink.

It just seemed like this word was constantly coming up. I prayed about it and journaled and felt like this indeed was my word for 2024.

My 2024 Word of the Year is…

How I am Implementing Bloom

2023 was a year of letting go. It was also a major year of transitions both professionally and personally. I am looking forward to becoming more rooted in 2024 so that I can bloom into all that God has called me to be.

I want to bloom in our new home and continue to do things that make it feel like ours.

I want to bloom in my part time role. The learning curve has not been the easiest, but I am looking forward to really owning it this year.

My husband, Josh, and I have some big goals for some other endeavors and I can’t wait to watch those bloom into reality.

I have some new and fresh ideas for Tara Shea the VA and can’t wait to implement those and see them bloom into reality.

If you also choose a word of the year, I would love for you to share it below!

Cheers to 2024!
